News from the Hughes: Snow Days

The most recent winter storm came at a convenient time because we have been sick! Ethan had a sinus infection and now I have Strep throat.

We didn't get as much snow as we did on Christmas Day, and the ice has been more dangerous this time round so schools have been closed all week!

Hannah really wanted to pass in the blow the early day, so we bundled up both kids and let them walk round the floor a small bit.

Yikes! I don't know about you, but I am quick to persist in and snuggle for the following few days. We have had unseasonably warm weather in Colorado, so everyone is out and about. Our local grocery store.library. fast food. heaven forbid, Hobby Lobby! When it comes to battling crowds, I mean I'm ready to have in the towel!

Granny Sue's News and Reviews: Snow on Snow on Snow

Yesterday was one of those busy but laid-back days when we took our time and did things we wanted to do, not had to do. Breakfast, shopping, a campaign to receive a corner and mistletoe. The aim was the better piece of the day. It has snowed, rained or otherwise precipitated every day but one in December. To me that makes a perfect December, but I recognize many people don't share my bed of snow.

Let it snow!

1117811399_9QVQL-M Let it snow!
I actually believe it should be against the law to take to operate during the holidays. I think right? I've been listening to Christmas music for 9 hours a day for the preceding week and a half and it just feels wrong to get to sit in a cell while listening to songs about fireplaces and hot coffee and snow.
Here's my return on Let It Snow lyrics:
The conditions outside is frightful.

Christmas Lyrics

000a4bf0_medium Christmas Lyrics
My husband has an endearing/sometimes annoying habit (mostly endearing) of picking a song - usually Christmas or Amazing Grace or Domicile On The Place or Oklahoma - his repertoire is quite limited. He'll sing the line of the song, but put another song's lyrics in instead. So, We Three Kings tune is sung, but the lyrics are Amazing Grace - and he embellishes and adds/subtracts his own language as alternative to the established lyrics.

The Office: Snow Patrol
THE-OFFICE-Classy-Christmas-550x366 Couchtime: The Office: Snow Patrol
Best sequence of the temper? I suppose so. Last night's Christmas episode of The Billet had me cracking up every few minutes and the characters delivered more hilarious lines than I could ever hope to pen down for the review. It shouldn't do as a storm that the sequence was scripted by comedic genius Mindy Kaling.

Yoo Cannot be Serious?: One snowman and his dog.

... went to mow a meadow? Hardly, in this winter wonderland LOL. The first snow of the winter, and for us on the seashore to get enough to prepare a snowman means that there is alot of snow about! Now, I don't exactly hate snow, but I am not a fan of the material either - snow is somewhat to appear at, and fun to act in, but if you want to get anywhere, then it is a nightmare.

Happy November Everyone! Wow, can you think it's November already??? I can't! The time certainly does fly by. Did you all receive an awesome Halloween last night? We had a ton of fun. Some friends of ours came over and went trick-or-treating with us. My husband was in Nashville working so we had friends and family over to prevent us company.
