NEW YORK (CBS 2) - For anyone who feels denied a White Christmas, just wait.

The Big Apple was preparing for Sunday`s snowfall with tall salt piles, city trucks, spreaders and plows.

The blow was expected to be rich enough to keep sanitation crews busy non-stop Sunday into Monday.

"They really handle the streets really well starting in Manhattan so I remember we`ll be alright," said Upper West Side resident Mason Ford.

"I`m ready for it. I love snow," said resident Rebecca Stanton.

It`s rather a weekend for Brian Brahona, working Christmas in a Chelsea restaurant and dreading to fall back on Sunday in a blizzard. "When you heat up and you feel out the windowpane and you see that pileof snow you think `oh man are they cleaning it up already`?" the restaurant manager said.

Miguel Contreras of the Concourse Village section of the Bronx said the only icy conditions he can hold are at a skating rink. Anywhere else, "horrible, it breaks, it messes up my day" he said.

As the Tri-State braces for the storm, we are divided into two camps: those whose reactions are "oh no" and others who sing "let it snow" like one Midtown resident who moved here from Russia.

Svetlana Popkova was applause and comforting the word of the snow. When asked why, she answered "Because I lose it so much. I really girl it."

CBS 2 also spoke with Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano about snow preparations on Long Island. "We give over 200 employees coming in at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning. We sustain all our department heads on alert," he said.

"We`re in league with our Power of Emergency Management, coordinating with all the state, federal and local agencies to do sure that we possess a unified effort to fight this storm," Mangano added.
