MILWAUKEE - The Lake Effect Snow Advisory that had been posted for Racine and Kenosha Counties is now upgraded to a Lake Effect Snow Warning through 12:00 p.m. Sunday. Milwaukee County remains under a Lake Effect Snow Advisory for the same timeframe.
Storm Team 4 forecaster Scott Steele says snowfall totals will vary widely across southeastern Wisconsin with a bulk of the areaseeinga trace or no snowflakes at all. However, MilwaukeeCounty, particularly thesoutheastern portion of the county, could see 2 to 5 inches, whilebig snow totals are probably in Racine and Kenosha Counties. The National Weather Service is now forecasting a possible 6inches, with isolated areas receiving as often as 12 inches, in eastern Racine and Kenosha Countiesas lake effect snow bands continue to go onshore throughout the night and intoSunday morning.
At 10:00 p.m. Saturday, snow accumulation in the City of Racine was already reported at 5.5 inches.
Pleasant Prairie, in Kenosha County, has enacted a Snow Emergency, scheduled to go through 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
The National Weather Service forecast office in Sullivan is also warning that go through some areas could become difficult as lake-effect snow showers "typically align themselves in bands and will probably be acute enough to spend several inches in localized areas." Visibilities may be decreased to a half-mile or less.
