Ode to Snow - go away - enough is too much. Especially with a low down snowblower.
Snow is the son of the day week month. We have had roughly 60 inches in the past 30 days - way way WAAAYYpast normal. Our driveway is a strong bulwark of c on both sides, both towering over my head. No telling what is buried underneath it all.
Our poor little pups ventured only a few feet from the door, sniff, do their thing, then scoot back in to the passion of the interior fires.
Since I last updated, here's a summation of events. Our second son is yet living elsewhere, not too responsibly and with a lot of hostility. He had an accident and of grade I got a call from the hospital, just what every parent dreads. He is fine, just a painful back. His car is not so fine. It's a complicated story, but I am not certainly the policy will pay since it's not all accident damage. The bigger share is from not changing your oil or adding oil in over 11,000 miles even though your mother reminded several times to get it done. That tends to cut up your engine, kwim? And when you receive an accident because you are driving on a donut - on ice - instead of your new tire which is in your body even though your mother reminded you several times to get it fixed, well, I'm not certain how that's going to work out. And when your car insurance is now past due because you haven't paid it, even though your mother reminded you several times it was coming up, you see where this is going. Now the paradox is in not going to operate because you don't own a vehicle so you can't make the money to pay the necessary bills. And said adult stubborn child has ruled out taking public transport to work. So what's a father to do? Flatly, I simply don't live at this point. And somehow all this is MY fault.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, second triplet son ended up at the hospital as well. He injured his ankle playing basketball at youth group. It turned out to be a bad sprain and not a fractured, but he had a pair of years on crutches and much of care and sympathy - and two weeks permission to get out of participating in PE. He loves PE though. This limitation would have thrilled my daughter.
I will pull bragging rights in that I had three, count 'em three HIGH HONORS students this term. Smart like their mama - lol. Honestly, I am so proud of them and their tough work. I had coupons and rebates and they were happily rewarded with Wii's "Wii Party" - to which WE have been partying. They have some kind of grim satisfaction in ridiculing my want of gaming skills, but they ever need to admit me in the fun. I did however beat them at Wii Jeopardy, even though my Mii had a disproportionately big head. But she was somewhat thin so it was an adequate trade off.
The kids make a few games they love, mostly the boys - NBA and Madden Football mostly. We don't leave any fighting shooting etc games. Just ask them and they'll tell you Ishelter them way too much. Uhhh - no I don't shelter. I try to responsibly parent. There is enough of multiplication for more grown up things in the age to come. Wii is a favour that comes after homework and chores and is rather limited, same as Gameboy and /or computer time. It's nice to make a little leverage.
The boys also believe it is ok to bring basketball in freezing temps with c and ice surrounding their court. It was decided pretty quickly chasing after the egg in the snowdrift was not too fun.
Lots of yellow snow by the second door. I guess fortunately it gets covered up by the next snowstorm pretty quickly.
We took the kiddos sledding today - reward for great report cards and helping shovel snow, between making snowballs and stressful to tap down icicles. I guess snow can make it's positive angle too.
