Toots andI were up and at them at 4AM this morning. Did a bit of washing and were out the threshold by 6:30. Cruised my regular spots with out much shooting. Lots of birds just not much easy or on the wrong side of the fall when there was. We rolled on to the Hospital about 8:30.
RA had, had a full night. Slept pretty good and was not crazy to her stomach. We got her in the lavish and she was loving that.
Washed her hair and out she was. Took a short respite and then we went walking, sat in the sofa and record the Sunday paper and support to her way exactly in time for her Dr. to visit. Dr. was pleased with her advance and TADAH! He OK'd her to have some solid food. I though she was passing to start out of the bed. ;Toots has not been getting her normal exercise since RA has been ill so RA said take that Puppa and get her a well run. Where I run her is simply a knot or so from the hospital. So off we went. Toots had run a half mile or so and my cell rang. It was RA describing her meal. Turkey, taters and gravy. She was in heaven. She simply ate about a third.
Toots and I came to the home for a couple hours to end up the washing and breathe a bit. When we got back to the Hospital a pair of RA girlfriends had been there. Visited and took care of her flowers. She has so many pretty bouquets.Stayed a couple hours and the short was acquiring great about 6. I must have been being a bit obvious watching the light. RA say will you get out of here and go following the geese. Now she never has to order me to do something twice. Well almost never, ;))
I remembered a little spring only pond that the geese often use and headed there. Sure enough there was a little stack of Snow's, 7 Whitefronts and a lot of Canada's. Now the route leading up to this small pond is extensive open. Nothing to cover behind. Basically yer naked in New York. They started getting nervous when I was more than 100 yards away. Over 30 minutes or so I eased into fair shooting range and ended the following 30 minutes to full frame range. As I'm certain you can think I dig a lot and so some. I was glad to simply sit there and shoot behavior shots. But No. One of the local Bald Eagles decided he required to see the pot for weak birds and poof they were gone.
Went back to where I had been early this morn and thither were piles of birds but way to far to shoot. On the positive side the geese had been united by a couple hundred Sandhills. They will hang around a bit longer than the geese.
Still sounds like RA may come home tomorrow but must take another Cat-scan before he will loose her.
