Casting News: Lily Collins is the Other Snow White

Deadline (and everyone else) reports that Lily Collins has been put as Snow Whitened the that I believe iscalled "Brothers Grimm: Snow White," otherwise known as "the one with Charlize Theron as the Glamour and not Kristen Stewart as Snow White directed by Tarsem Singh." It is not the one called "Snow White and the Huntsman," otherwise known as "the one with Julia Roberts as the Glamour and Kristen Stewart as Snow White but probably not Viggo Mortensen as the Hunstman." This Singh/Theron/Collins one also stars Armie Hammer as the hilariously named Prince Andrew Alcott (speaking of hilarious, check out this rundown of Singh`s appearance at Wonder-Con for his next movie, "The Immortals").

Collins is better known for her appearing in "The Blind Side" where, I`m guessing, she somehow managed to not be entirely overwhelmed by Hurricane Sandra. She`s in the upcoming "Priest" with Paul Bettany and "Abduction" with Taylor Lautner. And she`s also the girl of pop star Phil Collins, who, somewhat sadly, is best known now as thesinger of some truly dreadful soft rock hits than the right stuff he did early in his career, such as his 1st solo hit "In the Air Tonight" and as a drummer, and later lead singer, with `70s art rock band Genesis. He also started out as a minor actor (okay, here is where I must concede that I know way too often about Phil Collins because of an older sibling`s love of that early `70s art rock, which she passed on to me. Yes, I can sing whole songs from early Genesis albums, and I think the ones that last 8 or 9 minutes. Ihum the lush, orchestral, faintly medieval instrumental parts).

On IMDb, Collins is listed as having a few more movies in pre-production, but more notably issupposed to bestarring as Juliet in a new "Romeo and Juliet" that is aforesaid to be "in production." I don`t know if this is quite true, since she is the only cast member they let down so far, so it probably is not really in production, unless it`s a revisionist version that will eventually be retitled "_& Juliet."

This Snow White, on the other hand, is set to go into production for a June 29, 2012 expiration date. This will put it well forward of the former one, that won`t be released until December 21, 2012. So next year you`ll get enough of time to do Snow White comparison shopping.

Catching up a little here with tidings from the early day-

Last week we heard that Saoirse Ronan was in talks to bring Snow Whites in one of the many Snow White movies in development. Oops, guess not.
